In Hatha Yoga, if someone were to ask you, "What is the most essential food of a Yogi?" The first things you will think of are, Organic, holistic, or vegetarian foods. You will never in a million years, imagine the answer being 'Air Supply'. Sometimes in yoga practice, we forget the importance of Yoga breathing exercises. We are so determined to master the art of poses, postures, Sanskrit names, maintaining a constant routine, est. that we can forget to practice breathing with our daily or weekly rituals. Some Hatha Yoga Practitioners will teach you that breathing exercises, is the core foundation and life of Yoga. We can often take breathing for granted. Shallow breathing is done so naturally by most individuals, this can cause more harm than good in the long run. In Yoga, we learn to appreciate deep breathing and the cleansing purifying effects of all exercises. We learn that our air is charged with prana or a life force. In this life force or energy, we can actually heal ourselves and channel positive creativity and God to harmonize our daily lives. This is apart of "Yoga Therapy" combined with Poses, we can really learn how to maintain good health, wealth, love, and eliminate common addictions. The next time you are not feeling well, having a panic attack, high stress, anxiety, depression, or sadness, try taking a moment to focus on your breathing. A few deep breaths can calm any situation and heal any illness over time. Building your prana can not only heal yourself, but aid in healing others. Similar to Holistic and Alternative Healing Practitioners, Yogins can heal individuals by learning to channel their comic, God, life force and pass it on to a patient or client. Very similar in traditions to Christian laying on hands, or Japanese, Christian, Reiki in today’s world. An Amazing concept, to see Alternative Healing spreading, internationally. Besides divine inspiration, every part of the body can benefit from prana such as vital organs, tissues, bones, hairs, feeding the blood and nerves, EST. In the world of Yoga Therapy, breathing alone can assist in healing the following:
Your air surprising, can be the best healer in Holistic, Alternative, and Yoga Therapy.
